Health care
Vaccination is not required before coming to Azerbaijan. It is recommended to get vaccinated against tetanus, hepatitis A and diphtheria. When travelling to inland regions, it is recommended to get vaccination against ship fever and hepatitis B. Vaccination against rabies is advisable because of the high risk of its transmission from piedogs even in towns. In the southern lowlands (Azerbaijan-Iran border regions), north-west and Baku’s vicinity as well, it is necessary to have an effective protection against mosquitos. It is important to look out for the hygiene of food and drinking water, because of frequent diarrhoeal illnesses. It is recommended to have sufficient medicine and a travel insurance.
