Minister Ivan Korčok met with Slovak Bishop Vladimír Fekete in Azerbaijan

During his working trip in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Ivan Korčok, also met with the chief representative of the Roman Catholic Church, Slovak Bishop Vladimír Fekete. He has been working in the country since 2009. There are also 10 other Slovak religious brothers and sisters of the Salesian Order of Don Bosco and the Order of Mother Teresa in Azerbaijan.

I was pleased to have the opportunity to meet with the Prefect of the Apostolic Prefecture in Azerbaijan, who is the Slovak Bishop Vladimir Fekete. It was very interesting to hear the views and experiences of the bishop from life in the country, to get acquainted with the relationship of the Azerbaijani government to religious communities and the help that Azerbaijan devotes to the reconstruction of the cultural monuments of the Vatican. I also used my visit to bring Slovak monks a consignment of liturgical aids, as well as help in the form of protective face masks under the SlovakAid brand,” the minister concluded.
