Anniversary of the birth of Uzeyir Hajibeyov

On September 22, 2010 the concert on the ocassion of the 125th anniversary of the birth of the significant Azerbaijani composer, scientist and publicist Uzeyir Hajibeyov was held in Vienna.

Merited artist, rector of the Baku Music Academy, professor Farkhad Badalbayli performed at the concert. His excellent performance presented the work of Uzeyir Hajibeyov, as well as his his own contemporary compositions.

Artistic experience was enriched by Vienna chamber orchestra led by the conductor Ayyub Guliyev, tenorist Azer Zeynalov, soprano Farida Mamedova, piano player Kamala Neymanova and trio: professor Ramiz Guliyev (performed on the national azerbaijani string instrument “tar”), Ilkin Ahmedov (singer) and Togrul Asadullayev (performed on the string instrument “kamantcha”).

The part of the homage to the memory of Uzeyir Hajibeyov was bringing the flowers to his memorial in Viennese Donaupark.
The concert took place under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture, the Mayor of Vienna, Vienna cultural institute and the Burgomaster of Donaustadt.
